It is always so incredible to walk through a child's first year with our families.  We are so honored to capture such a special season for our clients. With most clients choosing to capture their baby's first year with a First Year Collection, we've begun offering Watch Me Videos.  These videos are an artistic compilation of clips taken at each portrait session in your First Year Collection.  They offer a unique opportunity to watch your little one change and grow from a sweet, snuggly newborn to a busy little toddler - to watch them explore their world - to hear their precious squeaks and first words.

I CANNOT believe that this little girl is ONE already!  She has changed so much in this year.  I have absolutely adored watching this family grow over this past year plus.  I've seen them grow from two excited parents-to-be to a family of three with a busy toddler.  So blessed by the opportunity.  I truly love that I get to do this for a living, and that I get to meet such precious friends along the way.

Baby Anne's 6 Month Session | Family Photographer Huntsville, AL

Fair warning, you're about to see some of the squishiest little toes and hands and one of the happiest little babies. Ben and Katie wanted some light, clean, and natural images of sweet baby Anne to adorn their walls, and I think we delivered.  Anne was an absolutely doll, and she gave us some beautiful moments to capture of their new family.

Looking at the image of Katie and Anne below, I was reminded of a poem that brought me to tears when my little one was a baby:

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth empty the dustpan, poison the moth, hang out the washing and butter the bread, sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo). Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo). The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue? (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

This baby girl has completely stolen my heart.  I'm so incredibly thankful to get to watch her grow this coming year.  She was the sweetest, sleepiest little thing for her newborn photo session, and I loved getting such precious family pictures for them to look back on and remember this time by.  I dare you to scroll down if you think you can handle the cheeks.  :)

Check out this most beautiful little baby girl and her gorgeous nursery in her family's apartment in Madison, AL.  Katie and Cody opted not to find out the baby's gender during pregnancy, so they prepared a soft, neutral nursery that fits miss Everly perfectly.  Her newborn photo session was full of sweet moments with her Mommy and Daddy, as she didn't love the idea of not being held.  :)  But, I think it turned out wonderfully, and I've seriously enjoyed getting to know this sweet little family.  I'm so looking forward to watching her grow this year!

Baby Hannah's Fresh 48 Hospital Newborn Photos | Huntsville, AL Newborn Photography

Fresh 48:  A newborn hospital session done within the first 48 hours.  Newborn babies change so much, even in their first days, that many parents choose to have a lifestyle session done in the hospital to document such a precious and fleeting few days in their family's life.  They are simply magical, if you ask me.  :) Baby Hannah has seriously stolen my heart.  She is so snuggly and sweet, and I simply cannot get enough of her little faces.  Plus, her parents are pretty cool, too.  ;)  I'm so thankful to have been welcomed in to such a sweet time in their new family.  I love the hospital details of these images.  Those first days are such a blur.  I'm glad they'll have these to look back on.  But seriously - you guys are going to freak out when you see her newborn photos that we did here, in the studio.  This family.  They ROCK, and Miss Hannah was pure, newborn baby perfection.

Baby Liam's Modern Nursery + Little Rue & Monk | Madison, AL Photographer

3 Quick Tips for a Great Newborn Session

To ensure availability, take a moment to book your newborn photography session before the baby is born.  Contact your photographer when the baby is born to ensure your session will be held between day 3 and 7, if at all possible.  If not, do not wait any longer than 14 days.

I am smitten with this little girl and her gorgeous hair! I just can't get enough of her newborn portraits. We did them in the studio, but kept a lifestyle feel to them that just let her little personality shine.  I just loooove it. :)  Not kidding, I started to tear up when I was shooting those last images of her in all white. Baby fever, anyone?! :D

Baby Zoey | Athens, AL Newborn Photographer

Love proper miss Zoey with her little pinky sticking up. :) What a sweet little girl she is. Have I mentioned how much I love newborn photography? Oh, ok - well, I LOVE being a newborn photographer!!! :D And, it was totally worth the loooong drive to Madison AL. ;) We actually did the shoot in the master bathroom of Zoey's family's home. I do most newborn sessions in my home studio in Huntsville, but with Zoey's momma recovering from a tough labor and delivery, I made the trip and did the session in their new home in Madison. It's always fun to see where the good lighting is in a home. Sometimes you just never know! :) Zoey was such a sweet, sleepy model. Honestly, I think she really enjoyed her time to herself, away from her adorably crazy siblings. Hehe I'm so thankful to be a part of this little girl's life, and I cannot wait to take her photos at every step of the way. I'm especially looking forward to the challenge - I mean, opportunity - of doing family portraits of four children under the age of five! ;) Y'all, I'm so seriously blessed to have this job. I know every photographer in the world says it, but we all mean it. Every word. :)

Dimples Galore | Family Photographer Huntsville, AL

You know what's amazing? This family. :) And their dimples. LOVE them, don't you?! They're doing the coolest thing with their images, too. They've made a barn wood board as a large wall covering to mount their large canvases on! I'm SO excited to see it come together. It was soooo fun to help them with such a great project! I'll be sure to post when it's finished.

Seriously. It's so wonderful to have clients that value me as an artist and display my work in the homes. I really couldn't ask for a better job or better clients. Thank you all!
