These videos are an artistic compilation of clips taken at each portrait session in your First Year Collection. They offer a unique opportunity to watch your little one change and grow from a sweet, snuggly newborn to a busy little toddler - to watch them explore their world - to hear their precious squeaks and first words.

I finally got my film scans in from our trip to Charleston! Ah, it's such an agonizing wait, but always so worth it! :D Love these moments captured in such a beautiful format. This dive into film photography has definitely grown me as a photographer in many ways, and I'm excited to keep working on it. :)

This year our family vacation took us to Folly Beach near Charleston, SC. My brother moved there last year and we were anxious to go visit his new home and spend some time in the sun! Unfortunately my man had to stay back and work at the last minute. :( We missed him so much, but we tried to make the most of our time in the South Carolina sand. Folly Beach was so sweet and full of beautiful surprises.

Isaac CANNOT get enough of the waves. I thought he was going to loose his voice screaming, "Whoa, here comes a BIG one!" at EVERY. SINGLE. WAVE. :)
We hopped out on Folly Beach for some family portraits one evening. Isaac didn't get the memo, so he just went about his typical beach routine: sand, water, caked-on sand.

We also took a couple trips out to the view of the Morris Island lighthouse on the north side of Folly Beach.
We came across this sweet girl enjoying some beach time and I just couldn't help but take some shots of her precious face. :)
I'm so thankful to have a brother that is such a good sport to my photography antics. And yes, the above image is a reaction to a fart joke. As far as I'm concerned, life stops when toots stop being funny. ;)
We were so blessed by this trip to Folly Beach and are looking forward to many return visits! Folly, you're a beauty! :) Next up - Charleston!
Fair warning, you're about to see some of the squishiest little toes and hands and one of the happiest little babies. Ben and Katie wanted some light, clean, and natural images of sweet baby Anne to adorn their walls, and I think we delivered. Anne was an absolutely doll, and she gave us some beautiful moments to capture of their new family.
Looking at the image of Katie and Anne below, I was reminded of a poem that brought me to tears when my little one was a baby:
Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth empty the dustpan, poison the moth, hang out the washing and butter the bread, sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo). Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo). The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue? (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, for children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Check out this most beautiful little baby girl and her gorgeous nursery in her family's apartment in Madison, AL. Katie and Cody opted not to find out the baby's gender during pregnancy, so they prepared a soft, neutral nursery that fits miss Everly perfectly. Her newborn photo session was full of sweet moments with her Mommy and Daddy, as she didn't love the idea of not being held. :) But, I think it turned out wonderfully, and I've seriously enjoyed getting to know this sweet little family. I'm so looking forward to watching her grow this year!
Everly was a curious little girl about that big camera in her face. It was sooo sweet!
Fresh 48: A newborn hospital session done within the first 48 hours. Newborn babies change so much, even in their first days, that many parents choose to have a lifestyle session done in the hospital to document such a precious and fleeting few days in their family's life. They are simply magical, if you ask me. :) Baby Hannah has seriously stolen my heart. She is so snuggly and sweet, and I simply cannot get enough of her little faces. Plus, her parents are pretty cool, too. ;) I'm so thankful to have been welcomed in to such a sweet time in their new family. I love the hospital details of these images. Those first days are such a blur. I'm glad they'll have these to look back on. But seriously - you guys are going to freak out when you see her newborn photos that we did here, in the studio. This family. They ROCK, and Miss Hannah was pure, newborn baby perfection.

I hope these gave you as much of a laugh as they did for us when we were making them. We could not believe how much Snuggles was enjoying it. She was actually snoring in some of these! I'm just so proud of Jan and Chase for keeping a straight face! :)
Mostly, I'm just so thankful for such a dear friendship. Jan was so creative to have come up with this creative concept and so sweet to allow me to come along for the ride. She always keeps life interesting, fun, and light. :)

Who doesn't love an adorable nursery?! Liam's momma is a designer and it definitely shows. Such a clean, fresh, and adorable space fit for the sweetest of little boys. :) Liam has the most infectious baby smiles and sounds. I seriously cannot get enough of him and his cute spunky hair! I'm so thankful that I was able to take some time over the holidays to leave Huntsville, visit and enjoy my family, and even work on a couple personal projects that I've been wanting to do for some time. Isaac had a great Christmas with both families, and we made sure to keep super safe and kept our helmets on. ;) We also took a little trip to the Cincinnati Museum Center's Train Display at Union Terminal. Isaac LOVED the trains (photos below). Anyway, here's one of those projects of mine as I dabble in videography - a sweet little video of my baby boy - that I wanted to share with you all.
Thanks for watching! Isaac and I had so much fun just jumping on the bed and playing with our (broken) motorcycle and we hope you enjoyed! :) I'm looking forward to making more videos like this when I find the time and opportunities. I know, such funny faces! The top one is mid-chew and the bottom one reminds me of, 1) how much he really loves apples and 2) how much bigger that apple is for him than it is for me! :) This is just another reason why I adore lifestyle photography. Things that you wouldn't even remember without photographs become heirlooms and art.
Some day, these photos will be the only toddler we have in the house. How blessed I will be to look at them and remember the time in his life where he would dance after he had a bite of an apple, a time when he called it a "bapple", a time when he would purposefully call a peach a "bapple" just to make me say, "Nooooo! It's not an apple, it's a peach!" and tickle him silly.
